Diplomate, American Board of Optometry
Nicole M. Mills attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, from 2000 until receiving her Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in May 2004. She then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated cum laude in May 2007. After graduation, Dr. Mills completed a one-year residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation at Southern College of Optometry, receiving her Residency Certificate in June 2008. She then earned fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) in November 2009.
After graduation, Dr. Mills worked at Tuscaloosa Ophthalmology, PC, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, from 2008 to 2013. She then joined the faculty at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences University School of Optometry in 2014 where she was an Assistant Professor of Optometry. In October 2014, Dr. Mills joined the Eye Care Group, PLLC, working at the Jackson, Dyersburg, and Ripley locations. Dr. Mills has extensive training and background in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, specialty contact lens fitting, and low vision rehabilitation. In 2017, Dr. Mills received Board Certification from the American Board of Optometry. As a Diplomate of the ABO, Dr. Mills has committed to the pursuit of lifelong learning and staying current with evolving trends in the eyecare profession.
In Dr. Mills’ spare time, she enjoys running, hiking in the Smoky Mountains, doing crafts, especially embroidery & monogramming and making jewelry, and spending time with her husband, Ashley, and two sons, Porter and Soren.
